Fred Whitton Challenge Charity total for 2019

After finalising our 2019 year ride we can now announce that the final amount that will go to our charities, all this was generously donated by the riders, includes Gift Aid and the surplus on the 2019 event was –  £218,000

For the twentieth year Macmillan Cancer Support is the main charity we have supported and they received £102,000, North West Air Ambulance £24,500, Great North Air Ambulance £23,000; Mountain Rescue £2400 and our donations to Various Youth Cycling projects £25000. Something we will continue in contributing to, helping to create the cyclist of the future. Also just over £20,000 has been raised by riders for their own special charities.

And a big thank you to the Riders that will receive a prize for their extraordinary efforts to raise money for our special charities as follows —

  • Paul Mossop  Whitehaven – £6,234 For our charities (plus £6,000 for his own charity Cystic Fibrosis at a total of £12, 234)
  • Roger Phillips Carnforth  – £4,415
  • Anthony Chaplow Carnforth – £4,296
